Screamers Movie Needs Help!

I am just copying this from an email that a friend sent me:

"Hello all,
I wanted to send this message to you encouraging all of you living in Southern California to go out and watch the movie Screamers. I'm sure that most of you already know about it. Again, the importance of this movie is huge. From what the production company says, we need 15,000 people to go watch the movie in a span of 2 weeks (Dec. 8-Dec. 22) in order for them to consider opening this movie in other theaters across the nation.

Please help System of a Down, the people involved in making the movie and most importantly, the victims of the Armenian Genocide by going to see this movie by December 22nd. It's not only for a great cause, but it also a great movie...so don't miss out. Here is info on where the movie is airing.

More points for our Governator!

I saw this on a friend's blog! First he approves my diploma by signing it, then he hangs with the Armenian Orthodox clergy! If you ask me Arnold is the best thing that happened to California!

More info:

I just found out that this picture was taken last year when Arnold said:

"Now, therefore, I, ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER, Governor of the State of California, do hereby proclaim April 24, 2005, as a Day of Remembrance of the Armenian Genocide."

To Zune or not to Zune?

Last week I was chatting with our dear Senior VP of Technology about my vacation and the conversation quickly changed to mp3 players. As many of you lost souls I am also unsettled whether or not I like ipod or zune. He let me test drive his Zune mp3 player, hoping that my questions would get answered I tried it and came up with this table.

Overall I should say that Zune is much much more closer to what I think a portable mp3 player should be. My most favorite feature is its Radio. I am a radio freak. I love Radio and would listen to it for hours if I could. Zune definitely wins the video viewing competition, but I think TV and video viewing should be done while laying on a comfortable couch in front of a real TV! I would never watch videos while I'm driving, but I would listen to music, so the better and bigger screen wasnt much help in my decision making. Overall, I'm still confused about which one I prefer more, but as a smart Microsoft consumer I think I would be better off with Zune, and that is because I would never purchase a Mac computer, and the one thing I hate about my ipod is that I cant load music on it with my computer! I need to use my sister's Mac cause every time I connect my ipod to my PC it forces me to format it. But lets be honest apple ipods are prettier and girlier! Well, my decision for now is to stick with my ipod and wait for the second generation Zune, but lemme tell u if Zune changes its look and uses more girlie colors I would buy it in a second! At least I'm not "impartially" hating Zune like our friend Mister P!

P.S. I forgot to post about Zune Converter! Well just check the website yourself. Oh and also I forgot to add WiFi to my table! Just add a small heart sign for Zune for its WiFi and a possible XBox connectivity in the future!

More Concert News!

I'm going to Shadmehr Aghili's Concert tonight! If you wonder who Shadmehr is ... oh well I guess I shouldn't expect everyone to know everyone ... but he is the best and most popular Iranian singer right now! Well that's what us young people believe! Older generations might disagree with us, but anyways, tonight he is having his first concert in California at Kodak Theater ... Its gonna be a pretty exciting concert, and I've been really looking forward to seeing him perform live! I've been following this guy's music since 1997 and its about time to see him in concert and I'm glad I'll be there for his first concert in California!

AMA experience!

It was Awesome! I mean just being there was really thrilling and exciting to begin with! The tickets said to be there at 3pm (for the red carpet), but we got there around 5:30 and we got lucky with the parking cause the awards was at the Shrine Auditorium, which is right across from USC. So obviously their parking was closed for celebs and more important people, but we were like ok why dont we just park at USC? and we just pulled in to the closest USC parking and parked there. The show started at 5 so we missed like half an hour of the beginning, so we didnt get to see Britney! When we got there PCDs were on stage already, but its ok cause we covered everyone else! Well I'm not gonna go over the itinerary now cause you can just check it on ABC.com, but the people I was most excited to see were Dixie Chicks (they were really good!), Gwen Stefani (well not the best performance but it was cool seeing her on stage), Snow Patrol (They were really good also!) , Jay-Z, Snoop, Linkin Park, Jamie Foxx, Mary J (Mary and Jamie were both awesome!), Gavin Rossdale, Carmen Electra, kinda excited to see Paris Hilton, and yes believe it or not I liked Barry Manilow's performance, even though his face was kinda creepy and set to a smiley face with all the injections, but he was good! who else? Well, they were all pretty much very cool to see. Our seats werent bad either, well we only paid $25 each so i was excepting the worst tickets in the house but They were pretty good!

The taping process was pretty interesting also! It was exactly like any other show taping, you have the announcer guy saying "we r gonna be on in 10, 9, 8, ...2,1! Applause!" and they had the set divided in half so while someone was performing or announcing on the left side of the stage, people were working on the right side and preparing for the next performer! The funny thing was when Flavor Flav broke his clock, and people were trying to clean the broken glasses after that! ... Overall very happy to experience it! The whole thing happened so quickly, On Monday Jess was like "Wanna go to AMA's tomorrow!?" and just like that, in 24hrs I was watching the American Music Awards live from Shrine Auditorium! I'll definitely do it again, and hopefully next time we'll try to get there couple of hours earlier!

We took video clips and more pictures also, but for now just enjoy these two. This one is from Gwen's Performance.

P.S. Dont be jealous of my talented writing on the drawing! It takes years of engineering school to learn how to work with this very interesting software called paint! LoL ... yeah I know its pretty bad but kinda dont care now.

Jury Duty Part III

Its over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YaY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was literally jumping from joy when I got out of the court yesterday!!!! The process was much better this time, no distractions and no long breaks... they told us they are not gonna get to us until like 10 so I didnt have to go down there early and wait in that freezing hallway.... It was pretty fast. The judge continued interviewing the original group of jurors, and me and couple of other people where just waiting to get called to the juror stand. Me and this other girl Melissa and another guy Andre kinda tried to stick together from the first day, so It was much better and easier to go thru this whole thing with someone to talk to and kinda exchange ideas of what to say and what not to say (even though we werent supposed to!) ... we were kinda the only young people ("younger" ... under 30) so I think that might have had something to do with them not calling us ... but I really think that the judge and the lawyers saw us always hanging together and I think that might have had something to do with the fact that they didnt want us on the case... I think they dont like it when jurors become friends outside of the court ... so If you r trying to not get picked I'll recommend grouping with couple of other people. Cause seriously, they dropped like a lot of people (10+) and picked new jurors but none of the lawyers were interested in us ... so us 3 and couple of others were the only people who never go interviewed!

Overall its was an interesting experience ... The CSI guy was really entertaining!!!! LoL ... he was seriously very desperately trying everything he could to get out of the case ... yesterday one of the lawyers asked him "You werent wearing that Jacket the first day, Is there a reason why you wore that yesterday and today?" We were all like what? what jacket? they really notice stuff like that? It turned out that it was some sort of police jacket, that none of us even noticed ... well how was I supposed to know? it just looked like a simple blue jacket .... then the guy said, "Well as I mentioned yesterday, since I worked on the SCI set I made friends with lots of Cops and I got this Jacket from them!" ... Yeah they dropped him ... I think they only kept him until the last day just cause he was really entertaining! So overall ... I got one thing out of this whole thing! I am not scared of Downtown LA anymore!!!! yeah stupid I know, but I hated even driving thru downtown let alone walk couple of blocks and go inside the Los Angeles Court where all the bad guys are at!!!! LoL ... but at least now I know that its not that bad! Its actually doable! I'll never drink that coffee again, but yeah "during the day" I wont mind going there again!

(The End)

Mmmmmmm Borsch!!!!

Also knows as Borscht, barščiai, Borschtsch, borshch, and borş but it all means the same thing. Soup! But in my dictionary it translates to deliciousness!!!! When I was younger my mom and grandmother would make it like once a week ... but yeah kids are stupid! they dont know what's good and what's not! So I hated it! I would make the stupidest excuses so my mom wouldnt make it anymore! So my mom stopped making it, but for the last couple of years, she started making it again just when the weather starts getting cold ... So today is that day again! When you start feeling the cold and take and extra jacket when you leave the house ... and guess what? We have Borsch today!!!! I am loving it right now! Its perfect! With some sour cream and a little bit of spicy dijon mustard!!! Just perfect! Mmmmmm ... Thank you Mom!!!

Jury Duty Part II

Ok so my adventures of serving jury duty continues ... Ok where was I? oh yes ... my group was asked to report back today, so the judge and the lawyers could finish their interviews and make their selection. Oh did I tell you that my group number was 13, and the court is on the 13th floor? Not a good sign now is it? So anyways .. based on my previous experience with the horrible brown liquid that they call coffee in that building, I decided to go prepared! I left my house early so I'd have time to get a Starbucks coffee. Also knowing that I was gonna be in another freezing room waiting for people to make their decision, I took an extra jacket and a scarf. I also wasnt feeling very good last night when I got home, and I realized that unsanitary place most probably contained more virus than any other place I've been in. So I also got Airborne and sudafed! So I was seriously ready to get this thing started and hopefully get it done with today! So basically all we did this morning was wait, wait, and wait some more. Around 11 am they called us in and as expected 3 people were a no show from yesterday ... that's nice! That means my chances of getting picked was higher now! so ... anyways ... now we had like an hour before lunch ... You should've seen the none sense some of these people would say to get excused! When asked if anyone has a family member who is a cop, they tried everything! "My second cousin's other cousin is a cop!", "My son is a security guard at Glendale Community College", "One of my dad's old friends is a retired LAPD officer" .... and my favorite one "I work with a lot of actors and I had to deal with a lot of police trainers for the actors, and I hear all these stories that makes me impartial!" yeah that guy was the best! Even when the judge at the end asked if anyone was prejudice, that guy actually said "Well for example when I worked on the set of SCI, I became really close friends with some of the cops so yeah you can say that I am kinda prejudice about criminals because of all the stories I heard from them!" I am not kidding you! I swear he seriously said that! I mean for a second everyone in the room was kinda rewinding the words that he said, kinda analyzing it just to make sure they heard him right ... the judge had to explain to him that what he meant by saying prejudice, just in case the guy didnt hear him right ... but he kept going on and on and on about how he's been dealing with a lot of cop movies and shows and how all of that affected his judgment about criminals!!!! Anyways ... I am not gonna get into detail here but overall people were really really trying as hard as they could just to get out of this situation! It was kinda amusing! ... so at noon we were sent for lunch and got called back around 1:30. The first group of jurors got interviewed some more, until 2pm! Yes after half an hour we were asked to leave the room cause the jurors from another case were ready to deliberate! ok so we went outside and waited for an hour and half and went back in around 3:30pm ... ok so the judge continued questioning the first group and kid you not the "CSI" guy started blabbing again about how much being around police actors changed his way of life!!!! so after 15 minutes of listening to that we were asked to leave the room cause they still had some issues to deal with the other case!!! So we step out, they call us back in 15 minutes, and this time the judge just said "You know what? I promise you more distractions would happen today, so why dont you go home and come back tomorrow!?"
yeap so nothing happened today! I totally wasted my whole day for nothing! Seriously how can this be a good justice system? None of the jurors were happy to be there, everyone was complaining about wasting their day at a freezing court house's hallway, everyone was planning what to say to get dismissed, and honestly I dont get it? I dont get why do we (others not involved with the case) stop our life and work and everything, just because some idiot did (or didnt, we dont know yet) something stupid? Yeah I guess our actions hurt more people! No seriously? I am getting more punished for getting called as a juror than who ever is responsible for this mess! Why should I be the one saying if the guy is guilty or not? dont they teach judges and lawyers anything in law school, that they need my help to figure out if they guy is guilty or not? whatever .... so yeah lets see what happens tomorrow (FYI tomorrow is Friday the 13th! another 13! man I am just the luckiest!) I guess this story has a part III coming up soon!
(To Be Continued)

Turk wins Literature Nobel, but its another victory for Armenians!

Orhan Pamuk won the Nobel Prize for Literature today for his novels which include "Snow" and "My Name Is Red,"! Why am I so excited? Well cause he is one of the Turkish writers who openly talks about the massacres of a million Armenians and 30,000 Kurds by Ottoman forces during the First World War, which Turkey denies, and he had spoken of "one million murdered Armenians." For his comments about the massacres of Armenians he faced trial earlier this year, and if convicted he would've faced three years in prison! Charges of “insulting Turkishness” brought against Pamuk, 54, were dropped on a technicality after attracting worldwide attention and stirring protests that Turkish laws restricted freedom of expression. The case damaged his country’s aspiration to join the European Union. In a twist that considerably dampened celebrations in Turkey, the prize was announced on the day that the French Parliament approved a Bill to make it illegal to deny that the Armenian killings amounted to genocide. Abdullah Gul, Turkey’s Foreign Minister, said that his country would consider retaliatory measures against France. In Ankara, protesters pelted the French Embassy with eggs!

Jury Duty Part I

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this is the most annoying, mind numbing, and stupid process ever!!!!!! I cant believe we have the best justice system in the world!!!!!! This whole Jury Duty thing is stupid and meaningless!!!!

Ok before I get ahead of myself and show my frustration lets start from the beginning. So I come home Tuesday from work, Have some tea, Chat with parents, Call my friends, and then I see the jury summons letter thingy on my desk ... Oh Crap, I was suppose to call them! Oh ok so dial the 1-800 number, and yeap the machine says "you have to report October 11th, at 7:45 am!" ok so I'm like ok, I dont mind going thru this thing once to see what's the whole thing about? Never been called for Jury Duty and there is a first for everything. (Side Note: Yes there is a first for everything, and the only thing I learned for the first time today was that, Dark chocolate M&Ms are the best kind of M&M ever created!) So Wednesday morning I wake up with great attitude, get ready, and ready to serve my duty as a US citizen! So we check in and wait, wait, wait, wait, and wait some more ... couple of people come and talk and I am very interested in listening to what they have to say ... but soon I realize I really dont have to listen... they are not talking about anything interesting or important, so I doze off and then we get a break!!! Yay!!! Caffeine!!! OMG I need coffee so bad right now! So the shop is on the 13th floor, we are on 11th ... ok wait for elevator ... wait, wait, wait , wait some more ... I am like I'll just take the stairs ... take the stairs up and I am shaking at this moment cause I really need the coffee right now!!!! Ok "The Coffee" is the worst thing I've ever ever ever tasted!!!! I really dont understand what is that? This cant be the coffee? Are you serious? You telling me that all these lawyer people here drink this!!! You kidding right? I was like ok its better than nothing ... I get my coffee, try really hard to drink it ... but there was no way I could keep that thing down! So straight to trash! So far the experience is not so great. Bathrooms were discussing, the room was freezing, chairs uncomfortable, surrounded by weired people (actually some of them were trying to act crazy just to get out of the whole thing!) ... there were computers but its $5 for an hour or $12 for all day ... well I have Internet on my phone already for $5/month, but stupid me I thought I better not take my phone with me cause Its a camera phone and they always give me trouble for having it ... but I see people using their phones, so I ask one of the clerks if camera phones are allowed here, and he says yes. so now I'm cursing myself, I am really really bored, and I really dont know how long this would take. They start calling the first panel, I keep my fingers crossed so I wont get called, cause that case was gonna be a 30 day thing! yeah so I ditch that one ... nothing happened until lunch, I went to my car and grabbed my phone! OMG life! I felt so comfortable with my phone! I was like I can do this now I have my phone! Yay! so go back after lunch, they call couple more panels and I'm not in any one of them!!! they say "if we dont call you by 4pm you are excused and can go home!" I really believed that I was not gonna get called! So now that almost 80% of the population of the room is gone, I start analyzing people. There was the usual mother figures, the student, the tattooed shaved head guy, the weired middle aged bald guy with green suit and gold suitcase, the old people who were sharing their latest surgery story with each other ... and then there were the couple that were very touchy feely! I think to myself, mmmm... how come they got called together? is that possible for couples to serve together? Then I notice her bag, its exactly like the one my sister just got, but hers looks much more expensive (well cause my sister's is a Prada lookalike and this one was real!) I look at the guy's Jacket and that too is a very pricey jacket! Then the girl turns around and I get to see her face. Guess who? Its Nicole from Pussycat dolls!!! She looked so simple! Now I really believe that Makeup is truly very magical! She was so so so tinny and her hair was all a mess, and it really showed that she'd never been woken up before noon! I wonder who the guy is, cause there were rumors that she is going out with Talan from the MTV show "Laguna Beach". Yeap its Talan! he was a mess also! he'd changed his hair color to black and he could use a hair cut! So yeap I think for special cases (well in US celebrities are considered special) they let couples to come in together maybe?... When Nicole turned around again, I kinda saw my opportunity and I really wanted to make sure it was her, so I said "You are Nicole right? From PCD?" and she nodded and smiled and turned back... Yeap I know my celebrities! ... so yeah for the rest of the day they were sitting in front of me and they spent all day napping! Interestingly enough no one was noticing them ... well I guess I was the only one who knew who Talan was and Nicole looked totally different with no makeup.
Alright that for star sighting... so its now 3:30 I was like "yes! there is no way they would call us now!" so I turned to the girl next to me and I asked her "Do you think they'd still call us" she smiled and said "yeah they'd call us to say thank you for coming!" so we both laugh and then those horrible words get said! "Attention Jurors we are calling the last panel now" ... oh oh ... my heart started beating like a scared puppy now! I was like F it, If I've to get called, I'll get called ... and guess what? They called my name! (P.S. The celebrities never got called) So we go to the 13th floor, where our court room is gonna be. Its like 3:45 now. The judge kinda tells us about the case, calls half the jurors up and starts interviewing, but by 4:30 he said the words we all knew would be spoken of today! "Unfortunately we cant finish the jury selection process today. Please report back tomorrow October 12, 2006!) .... So that is about it ... not only I was half and hour from getting excused and sent home, now I have to come back tomorrow? Great! Lets just hope tomorrow would be the last day, and I would be back to my normal life and awesome coffee on Friday!

Annoyed ..

Ok I know my "co-workers made me start this blog" and they are my primary readers, so I should be more professional and try not to blog about "everything!" but I dont think its fair to use blogs and what goes in here to judge a person's work ethics, and I know my coworkers wont do that ... so with that said I am gonna say something that It might offend some people ... so for starters let me tell u that I am having "The Worst" week possible! Nothing is going right, everyone, including friends, family, and even strangers, get on my nerves these days and I am having some serious issues understanding why are they acting this way? Well maybe its just me, and I read too much into this. I've been so stressed lately that I've had heartburn for like 10 days now and its just not going away!!! ... but anyways let me tell you about what happened today that kinda annoyed the heck out of me ... Well we have a storage area at work that I've been going back and fort there a lot lately, and usually I take a cart with me and move gears and cables to and from our building. So today I was coming back from the storage and was pushing that cart with couple of gears and cables on it. So as I was getting closer to the double glass door entrance to the building I noticed a lady parking her car at the "Off Lot Executive's Spot" and walking towards the same doors as I was. I just kinda looked at her and thought to myself I wish I could wear high hills to work ... so we kinda got to the door together and even though I was like couple of steps in front of her, I kinda slowed down and looked at her and smiled and politely said "After you" well I had that cart to push and actually I kinda thought better to let her go first so she would hold the door ... stupid me ... I didnt realize that she was just a stupid mean bitch!!!! Sorry but I dont know how else to say this ... seriously even though I had just made eye contact with her and I was sure she heard me when I said "After you" she totally ignored me, walked pass me and didnt even look back to see that I was pushing the cart behind her ... she didnt even try to pretend that she was gonna hold the door for me! Maybe I was just expecting too much ... yeah she parked at the "Off-Lot Executive's Spot" she is probably more important than me or my stupid cart ... who was I to expect this very important person to hold the door for me?
Oh well whatever... It wasnt like I needed her to hold the door, but I seriously cant believe that she could be so ignorant!! just because she gets a special parking spot and her paycheck probably has couple of more zeros than mine ... seriously I am sure if it was a guy, no matter what his title he would've held the door ... but some women are just evil and specially when they get to a big title or power their evilness doubles!!! I am not saying that all powerful women are evil (I sure hope I wont be one of them when I get my executive parking spot!) but it really made me feel horrible inside ... I felt like a nobody that was pushing a cart, who doesnt wear high hills to work and doesnt have a special parking spot! Maybe it doesnt feel like a big deal to some people, but I grew up in a family and environment that we respect each other no matter how old you are or how much money you make!

Happy Armenian Independence Day!

I got too excited about the first day of fall thing today that I totally forgot about the Armenian Independence day!!! Shame on me!!! Well I’m gonna give you guys some history lessons here…you don’t need to read the whole thing since I’m sure this is not gonna be a very interesting post for most of you, but its an important piece of my ancestors history so I feel the need to blog about it.

Well September 21st was the second time that we tried to claim our independence from other countries. So the first Independence day was May 28, 1918, when Armenian temporarily became independent of the Turkish government and the Armenian National Council declared Armenia’s independence and proclaimed itself the Republic’s temporary government. So May 28 became the birthday of the Republic of Armenia and we got our tricolor flag back!!!

"A Red stripe born from the blood,
A piece of Blue carved from the sky,
Orange shine of ripe stacks in the fields and over six centuries of darknessa Tricolor flag..."
Antranig Zaroukian (An Armenian Writer)

Ok I’m just gonna do some serious copy-pasting here:

Furthermore Mustafa Kemal, the new Turkish opposition leader, was able to reach an agreement with the Bolshevik leaders of Russia. Enthusiastic with the idea of "exporting the revolution eastward", Lenin and Stalin were prompt in starting an unprecedented financial and military aid to Kemal. At that time Armenia exploded into anarchy as the Armenian Bolsheviks rose in the cities of Nakhichevan, Alexandrople and Kars. The Soviet government hypocritically negotiated with both Dashnak and Bolshevik leaders of Armenia. In August 1920, the Treaty of Sevres, signed by England, France and Turkey, bound Turkey to recognize the independence of Armenia and the Wilsonian boundaries. The new Armenian state was recognized by most of the countries, including the United States. However, after the triumph of Mustafa Kemal, the Turks, supported by the Bolshevik Russia, attacked the infant Armenian Republic again. The Armenian and Russian Bolsheviks played a fatal role in demoralizing the population and the Armenian army. The Bolshevik propaganda now called the Turks "socialists" and "friends of Russians". On the other hand, the victorious Russian XI Red Army, after successfully Sovietizing Baku, Azerbaijan, and Karabakh, approached Yerevan to "overthrow the Dashnaks". The disoriented Armenian army retreated, surrendering Kars and the uyezd of Surmali. The whole Armenian population there was then pitilessly butchered by the Turks. On November 29, 1920, Armenia was declared a Soviet state. But then in 1991 Armenia was granted independence from Soviet Union.

Armenia was one of the first republics to declare independence from the Soviet Union on August 23, 1990, three months after Latvia, the last of the Baltic States declared its independence. On March 17, 1991, Armenia, along with the Baltics, Georgia and Moldova boycotted a union-wide referendum in which 78 % of all voters voted for the retention of the Soviet Union in a reformed form. Finally, on September 21, 1991, the state of Armenia was fully recognized and re-established. Still, tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan continued to escalate, ultimately leading to the Nagorno-Karabakh War. Despite a cease-fire in place since 1994, Armenia has yet to resolve its conflict with Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh. Aside from this, Armenia has seen substantial development since independence and, although blockaded by both Turkey and Azerbaijan over the Karabakh dispute, maintains friendly relations with its neighboring states of Russia, Georgia, and Iran.

Happy 1st day of Fall!!!

Happy Fall!

Today is the first day of Fall, which is equivalent to 1st of Mehr! Mehr is the 7th month of the Iranian Calender and its also the first day of school!!!! Well since over there Friday is considered weekend, this year school doesnt start on Thursday and it would just start on Saturday. 1st of Mehr is one of my most favorite days of the year!!! Well I know I still have a lot of great days coming up in future, but nothing is comparable to my awesome days at school! Specially high school! I was at my happiest during those four years ... I have so many awesome memories from those years that I can seriously write a book about it! And it wasnt just me, everyone loved high school ... its the one thing I cant explain to my American friends cause over here people cant wait to get out of high school and normally people hate it, but my school was different. Well for starters it was all girls school and let me tell you, girls can do more damage if there are no guys present!!! Oh I wish I could go back to those days. We didnt have the stupid lunch time table division thingy, that kids here suffer from! No popular kids or nerds tables. No cheerleaders or football players. No bullies. No Losers. But we were all kinda part of the bigger group, and that was what class you belong to! Freshman year we got separated alphabetically based on our last names, so guess what? Most of my cousins were in my class, we had six Petrosians in my class, how awesome is that?

Persians have this saying "Hichky mesle yare dabestany nemishe!!" meaning that there is no friend like your school friend! Seriously all of my best friends are people I know from high school! I still talk to most of my schoolmates and every now and then if they come visit here, they always call me! I just cant wait to go back and see all of them again! If I could ever turn back time I would turn it back to 1995!!!

....

Isnt it interesting that Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip airs on the same week that SNL announces that series regulars Chris Parnell, Horatio Sanz and Kenan Thompson are not going to be back for the sketch comedy show's 32nd season!!!

What can I say, I have some nerdy friends ...

All the scientists die and go to heaven. They decide to play hide-n-seek. Einstein is the one who has the den. He is supposed to count up to 100 and then start searching. Everyone starts hiding except Newton. Newton just draws a square of 1 meter on the ground and stands in it right in front of Einstein. Einstein's counting: 1,2,3....97,98,99,100. He opens his eyes and finds Newton standing in front. Einstein says: "Newton's out !!" Newton denies and says Newton is not out. He claims that he is not Newton. All the scientists come out to see how he proves that he is not Newton. Newton says "I am standing in a square of area 1m squared ... That makes me Newton per meter squared ... since a Newton per meter squared is one Pascal, I'm Pascal, therefore "Pascal is OUT!!!".

People wonder why I dont like cats ....

Birth certificates are overrated

Well according to my birth certificate I've been alive for a quarter of a century!!!

Yup legally I turned 25 today! yes the key word being "legally" meaning that I dont really need to have a birthday cake today and blow 25 candles and all that (actually gifts are always welcomed!) ... My dad calls this a trial birthday, I get a chance to try to see if I like the age that I'm gonna be or not ... cause If not I still have like 2 months and 20 days to my real birthday. Yes I have a real birthday and another birth date that is recorded on my birth certificate! ok I know what most of you are thinking right now ... you think oh she changed her birthday (and maybe her name) cause she had some sort of trouble with the Law! but you would be wrong my friend!

See, my real birthday is seriously December 8th, which in Iran is 17 Azar, 1360! Azar is the 9th month of the Iranian Calendar, which puts it in the second 6 months of the year. So there is this law in Iran that if you were born sometimes in the second 6 months period you need to wait until next year's September to start school. So my parents knew that If I was to wait and register a year later I would've been the oldest person in that class, and If I registered a year early I would've been the youngest and actually finish school early! They liked the second idea better ...

The thing is that my brother's birthday was 2 years earlier than mine on the same day (December 8th) and my parents had already changed his birthday to September to be part of the first 6 months and they've already made connections with someone inside! so when I arrived everything was set for them, and very easily they put September 18th as my birthday on my birth certificate!

Yup, so it wasnt my idea of changing my birthday, but I have no complains about it! yes this means that my driver's licences says that I'm couple of months older than what I really am. but it has its benefits, like it was awesome when I turned 18 and 21 couple of months earlier than expected!!!! So today I get to experience being 25 and have couple of months to adjust to it, so by December 8th and when my real birthday comes I am gonna be ready to party and none of those "Oh I am so depressed that I am gettin old" stuff ... December 8th is when the partying happens and I have September 18th to worry about gettin old! So Happy "Fake" Birthday to Me!!!

Dont trust a person who doesnt like chocolates and I dont believe those who say they dont like burgers.

Facebook is out of rotation!!!

Ok so I know I shouldve quit facebook when I graduated, but I still have my account. Why? Well because my school email expired and If I delete my facebook account now I cant sign up again unless if someday I decide to go back to grad school and get a new school ID ... and up until now It was one of my favourite websites to visit on daily bases cause most of my school friends also still have their accounts and they update it frequently, so its cool to know what r they up to and everything ... but stupid Mark Zuckerberg (Founder of Facebook) decided to make facebook every stalkers heaven! Its so creepy right now that I dont even want to log in any more! seriously when u log in your home page is now what they call "News Feed and Mini-Feed" Its the stupidest thing ever! It looks something like this:

Facebook is stupid!

It seriously says every little thing that u have done while u were on facebook! Like who left u a message or comment, you left a message for who, who are u friends with now, what group did u just join ... as I said Its a stalkers dream come true!

This is what facebook had to say about these stupid changes:
On September5, 2006 Facebook introduced two new controversial features called "News Feed" and "Mini-Feed". The first of the new features, News Feed, appears on every Facebook member's home page, displaying recent Facebook activities of a member's friends. The second feature, Mini-Feed, keeps a log of similar events on each member's profile page. Members can manually delete items from their Mini-Feed if they wish to do so.
Shortly after the new features appeared on the site, hundreds of groups were created in direct opposition to them, while a few smaller groups were created in favor of them. Members against the new features generally felt that they were an invasion of privacy or that they compromised the site layout and design. They urged for more targeted privacy controls, insisting that members should be able to choose whether to allow or disallow certain types of information about themselves to be announced on the News Feed or Mini-Feed, filter the specific types of information that they would like to receive about others on the News Feed or their Mini-Feeds, or completely opt-out of the entire News Feed and Mini-Feed system. The largest of these groups, Students Against Facebook News Feed (Official Petition to Facebook), accumulated nearly 750,000 members at its peak, which occurred just a few days after the changes.
Three days after the implementation of the new features, on September,8 2006, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg responded to the criticism by issuing an apology on the Facebook Blog: "I wanted to create an environment where people could share whatever information they wanted, but also have control over whom they shared that information with. Somehow we missed this point with [News Feed and Mini-]Feed, and we didn’t build in the proper privacy controls right away. This was a big mistake on our part, and I’m sorry for it." At the same time, Facebook added a set of privacy options that allow members to prevent certain events from being logged. According to Facebook customer service, as part of the improvements, deleting an item from the Mini-Feed also removes it from the main News Feed seen by the member's friends.
Some Facebook members still feel that the ability to opt-out of the entire News Feed and Mini-Feed system is necessary, as evidenced by a statement from the Students Against Facebook News Feed group, which has not yet seen a significant decline in membership. However, according to recent news articles, members have widely regarded the additional privacy options as an acceptable compromise.

Sad News ...

Stingray Kills TV's 'Crocodile Hunter

(CBS/AP) Steve Irwin, the hugely popular Australian television personality and conservationist known as the "Crocodile Hunter," was killed Monday by a stingray while filming off the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44.

Irwin was at Batt Reef, off the remote coast of northeastern Queensland state, shooting a segment for a series called "Ocean's Deadliest" when he swam too close to one of the animals, which have a poisonous barb on their tails, his friend and colleague John Stainton said.

"He came on top of the stingray and the stingray's barb went up and into his chest and put a hole into his heart," said Stainton, who was on board Irwin's boat at the time.

"It's just absolutely unbelievable," Nigel Marven, a well-known wildlife specialist who was a longtime friend of Irwin's, said on The Early Show. "To be killed by a big crocodile or bitten by a snake, you'd have believed it. But a stingray? There's only been three cases in Australia of deaths by stingrays in the last 100 years. Seventeen worldwide. So it's a tremendous freak accident."

Crew members aboard the boat, Croc One, called emergency services in the nearest city, Cairns, and administered CPR as they rushed the boat to nearby Low Isle to meet a rescue helicopter. Medical staff pronounced Irwin dead when they arrived a short time later, Stainton said.

Irwin was famous for his enthusiasm for wildlife and his catchword "Crikey!" in his television program "Crocodile Hunter." First broadcast in Australia in 1992, the program was picked up by the Discovery network, catapulting Irwin to international celebrity.

Agassi is on fire!!!

Andre Agassi was awesome yesterday! Seriously! I was like neah ... he is not gonna make it .. that guy Marcos Baghdatis is young and energetic he would eat Agassi alive! Specially after this year's Wimbledon and Agassi's disappointing game, I never thought he would make it pass the fourth day of US. Open.

"As if his resume weren’t littered with enough epic matches and insane drama, Agassi added another improbable chapter to his storied career, with a thrilling 3-hour, 40-minute, 5-set victory over eighth-seeded Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus. Even though this one was only to advance to the 3rd round of the US Open, with no title on the line, it ranks with the greatest of all his victories. Agassi outlasted Baghdatis, a player 15 years his junior and possessing a ranking 29 spots higher, 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 5-7, 7-5."

Agassi now has 79 US Open victories (second to Jimmy Connors) and 596 overall. He also holds 60 ATP titles and Baghdatis has 0.

So if you havnt been paying much attention to US open, you still have 10 days to catch up ... I know NFL games r gonna start like next week, but US open is only 2 weeks long, compared to NFL games that are like what? 5-6 months!?

Bye Bye KZLA ...

... OMG this is not possible! I cant believe we dont have KZLA anymore! I'd heard about a possible move on KZLA but to completely cancel it, that's ridiculous! What idiot approved that! I was actually listening to my Best of Country music (2005) this morning, then I remembered that I heard something last week about KZLA being canceled ... so I turned my car radio on and guess what! what the ... its gone! and some new guys are on now ... and they call themselves "Rhythmic Pop Contemporary, Movin 93.9"!!! which basically translates to crap music!!!! That means another station that plays pop, hip-hop, and R&B! Like we needed more of those! We have enough of these stations we dont need another one! But we only had one country music station in LA!!! what happens now? they said KZLA will be streamed via the Internet and on HD2. So basically I need to get a HD radio now!
Yes I love country music! Sue me! I love songs that are about a cowboy's dog running away because of his girlfriend's cat, and he gets into his truck to find the dog, but he ends up in a bar and sees his girlfriend with another guy and then a huge bar fight begins!!! eh ... yet another evidence of the fact that life is just not fair, and the second u get used to something, its gonna be gone sooner that u thought ...

Album of the Week

Ok so there is no way I am gonna go see snakes on a plane! Seriously, I care too much about myself! why would I voluntarily do that to myself? but here is the thing ... the soundtrack is not that bad ... its actually listenable! unlike the movie that is unwatchable! Its like that old movie that was all about a roller disco nightclub, (well not that old I think it is from 80s) Xanadu ... the movie sucked but the soundtrack went like triple platinum!

More on the Emmys

Haha ... I love this one ... I forgot to mention it in my previous post, but how awesome is this!? Those stars who pick up all that loot in awards show gift bags and promotional gift suites are supposed to pay a share of the value to the IRS. And this year, the IRS is making sure they know it. On the red carpet the interviewers keep asking people "Would you accept the gifts this year or not?" and most of them said ... "maybe we'll just donate it to a charity" ... so that way they dont have to pay the taxes.

These are some of the stuff that you would find in these gift bags
· "Lulu the Lamb" stuffed chair from babystyle.
· A two-night stay for two for a course in Napa Valley winemaking at Beaulieu Vineyard.
· Dinner at Crustacean Restaurant in San Francisco or Beverly Hills.

The official 2006 gift basket is worth $27,000 to $33,000. And for high-income stars, that could mean $12,000 to $15,000 in federal taxes.

2006 Emmys

Ok so The 2006 Emmy Awards came and went last night in Hollywood ... what does this mean? That means that August is over and this is the last week people are allowed to wear white! remember the "No white after Labor day" rule? ... so ABC got like 10 or 11 I think, coming up at the 3rd place, behind HBO an NBC ... I was really happy for "The Office" and "24"! Also Tony Shalhoub and Megan Mullally really deserved to win last night!! ... forget the awards Lets talk about the fashion! Ok people, we get it, Purple is in! It's interesting how sick I got from seeing so much of my favorite color! seriously, I dont think it was safe to have so many people wearing purple on the red carpet! I was hoping to see some silver or gray since summer is almost over and we should get ready for Fall fashion!!!

Ok so lets talk about the best and worst dressed people! Guys, please comb your hair! seriously please just a quick comb! It wouldnt hurt! I really dont have a favorite one but I think I can say that I didnt really like Jeremy Piven's and Howie Mandel's what they called suits!!! For women I have two favorites (mainly because they were kinda the only people that didnt wear purple!) ok so I'm gonna go with Karherine Heigl and Heather Locklear for the best ... and for the worst dressed, well if u saw the Emmy's u know it already ... There is no way you could've missed it! I mean did u see Paula Abdul!!! That lady is just crazy! what was she thinking?

I just had to do this

I cant really explain this ... I dont think it would make much sense to most of you guy, actually its kinda stupid ... but Gooril-Angoori & Biglie-Biglie were our childhood heroes!!! LoL ... It was a TV show that came out in the 70s but I think kids in Iran are still watching it! I think its real name is actually something like the Great Grape Ape, but in Iran they translated it to Gooril-Angoori (meaning the grape Gorilla) but it just sounds funny, and as a kid I never paid any attention to its name and why its called Gooril-Angoori ... I just thought cause it sounded funny, but now after all these years, finaly I understand that its called Angoori because of its color! (Angoor means grape) Duh! ... oh I still dont know why they named his friend Biglie-Biglie, that one for sure is just a stupid name they picked that rhymed with Gooril-Angoori.

Now I can import my blog into my facebook! How Awesome is this!!?
